High Plateau Humane Society

HPHS was founded in 1987 and we rescue about 120 dogs and 250 cats per year. We are an all-volunteer organization and run a thrift store, called Second Chance Thrift, from which we adopt out animals and sell our low-cost spay and neuter certificates. We have a number volunteers, including a board of five. We do this because we have a passion to rescue orphaned and homeless animals and want to make life better for the animals in our county.

Meet Max

Max is a happy-go-lucky 15 month old Border Collie seeking adventure and some friends to chase.   He walks well on lead and gets along well with other dogs and even dog-savvy cats!  He absolutely adores people and should do well with children 8 years old and up.  He is learning to fetch and his favorite canine buddies are other Border Collies as they will understand his play style best. Max's adoption fee is $180, which pays for his shots, neuter and micro-chipping. If you are interested in Max, please email [email protected] with some information about your household and the activities you plan for your dogs.  Max will need a fenced yard and an active and engaging family as adventure is his middle name!

Adoption Process
When someone releases an animal to HPHS, we require a signed release form. We then have the animal vaccinated and spayed or neutered before offering it for adoption. Adoption fees vary and are listed with each animal.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
