Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Biscuit

Adoption Fee: $800   Biscuit is a 9 week old Shih Tzu mix who is cute enough to nibble! Biscuit, and his sister Scone, came into our rescue as an owner surrender when his former home was no longer able to care for him. We will be looking for separate homes for each puppy. Biscuit has a Shih Tzu coat which will be lighter shedding, but will not be an option for those with true allergies. He will require regular grooming.    Below is a note from Biscuit’s foster.  “Biscuit is a happy and sweet puppy who loves cuddles and kisses. Biscuit is happy to take his cues from his sister as they go about their daily play. He is very loving and is happy to trot around the house until we scoop him up and give him snuggles. Biscuit is a true gentleman, politely resting his face on our laps as we pet him. He loves toys and it is so fun to watch his little legs race after his toys when we throw them. Biscuit is such a cute and handsome little man who is just too adorable for words!   The puppies wake up at 6 AM and spend some time playing as we start our days. They get breakfast around 7 AM and then spend the morning alternating between chasing each other, playing with toys, and snoozing in their pen. After lunch at 1 PM, they take a long afternoon nap before another play session. They have dinner at 7 PM before they get a lot of cuddles in the evening. They go to bed at 9 PM.  The puppies are working on their potty pad training and are very smart as they learn new things. They get along very well with dogs and cats alike. They adore people and know how to work their puppy dog eyes for endless cuddles. Biscuit is just a bundle of love who can’t wait to find his afternoon tea party club!”   Biscuit is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.
