Meet PANDA

Meet Panda, the poodle yorkie mix. This cute guy came in with his friend, who has since been adopted. When he first arrived, he wasn’t so sure about the staff and volunteers of the Shelter. Slowly but surely, his circle of human friends started to expand. Now, Panda loves “his” people and is eager to say hi and play. Panda will likely be more of a wallflower type of dog and is looking for an adopter that understands that lots of interaction with strangers is likely to cause Panda stress at this time. A quiet, dog savvy home is recommended for Panda to bond with his guardian and work on some confidence building. Panda has been a regular at small dog playgroup and may do well with an easy going, social similarly sized dog to show him the world is not so scary. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
