Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet DogFather

Adoption Fee: $800   The DogFather is a 5 month old Pug who is ready to make you an offer you can’t refuse: adopting him! The DogFather came to us as an owner surrender when his former home decided they weren’t so ready for a puppy after all. We took one look at his adorable little face and knew he’d find his perfect second chance in no time. Unlike his fictional counterpart, our DogFather isn’t the head of a crime family, but it would be a crime for you not to adopt him. He is a purebred Pug so we will be seeking a forever home who is ready for all that comes with flat-faced breed ownership.     The DogFather is a super sweet, gentle, loving dog with a heart of pure gold. He is a total velcro dog and would love nothing more than spending his life making YOU happy. He is a quick learner because he learned that following tricks makes treats rain down from the sky. He truly spoils anyone who meets him with kisses and snuggles. He is so eager to fill the role of “man’s best friend” for his forever home. He adores affection and attention, and would be thrilled to spend his days on your lap or in your arms. Like any good Pug, he is playful but not overly energetic. He is content with some playtime but is soon looking for a lap to snuggle into for a nap. He’s low maintenance like that! Our favorite thing about The DogFather is that he comes with a bestie: his stuffed hedgehog that he carries around with him anywhere he goes. A true two for the price of one!  The DogFather starts his morning at 7 AM with a trip outside to the bathroom before he comes inside for breakfast. After he snacks, he spends his mornings snoozing and playing with his tennis balls. He gets lunch at around 11 AM, as he is still a growing boy, and then gets some cuddles on the couch. In the afternoon, DogFather gets a walk and he loves trotting along with his foster people. In the evening, he eats dinner at 6 PM before spending some more time playing and zooming around the house on his stumpy little legs. He loves to try and sneak a few yummy snacks from the table but his puppy dog eyes haven’t swayed us yet. Good luck to you! In the evening, DogFather snuggles on the couch and gets his daily allotment of kisses and rubs. After one last potty break, he goes to bed in his crate where he snoozes through the night.  DogFather gets along with dogs of all ages and sizes. He plays very well with his canine pals and would do well as a sibling to an existing dog. He could also thrive as a one and only dog. He adores people and especially loves those who give him extra treats! DogFather is just starting his obedience and leash training and will be the star of any puppy school he attends! We’re calling it now: he will be the best in show! If you’re looking for a handsome and hilarious companion, you’ve met him with DogFather!    The DogFather is only an option for those who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. We will be prioritizing homes with experience with flat-faced breeds. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
