Meet Zara, the adolescent German Shepherd. Staff have observed that this social gal is often at the front of her kennel and ready to say hi to approaching people. She is easy to leash up for adventures but still perfecting her leash walking skills. When with people, she wants to be close and soaking up all the attention.. Zara has met a variety of dogs since coming into our care and may prefer a more dog-savvy, polite dog than a rambunctious one.This dogâs adoption fee is reduced to $70 from May 1st to May 15th as part of âEmpty the Sheltersâ, an adoption event hosted by the Bissell Pet Foundation to help pets across the nation find the loving adoptive homes they deserve. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
