Meet BOBO

Meet Bobo, the brindle boy! he arrived to the Shelter with other canine friends in tow. Bobo is the perfect sized pup at 40lbs – great for adventuring and snuggling. Bobo has history riding in the car and is ready to be someone’s passenger prince. Bobo’s favorite activity is playing tug of war. Bobo has experience with other species of animals including dog-savvy cats, goats, cows, and horses. Bobo knows “sit” already and is ready to expand his canine vocabulary with his adoptive family through positive reinforcement based training. Bobo can be a bit shy with new people but once he warms up, he is quite the sweetheart. He would prefer to go to an adoptive home where he was with someone more often than not as he does not love being left alone! If you are looking for a medium sized shadow to accompany you in the day to day – consider Bobo! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
