Summer is warming up and the Memorial Day Litter is ready for the long weekend here at the shelter. This litter is an All-American Mix of Belgian Malinois and Great Pyrenees... neither of which is an American breed, but we are a bit of a melting pot here at the shelter, too. At 9 weeks old, this litter is full of potential. The litter was raised primarily outdoors and has limited experience with people and animals outside of their previous home, and will need someone to pull up their bootstraps and take on the challenge of housetraining, leash-training, and basic manners. Come down and hit it out of the park with one of these future American Heroes. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
