Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Clementine

Adoption Fee: $850   Clementine is an 8 month old Shih Tzu mix who can’t wait to bring some fruity sweetness to the Bay Area! Clem was rescued from the shelter along with several other dogs. We have no idea how this gal was left by a former home but we scooped her up and promised her a perfect forever home. If you love Shih Tzus, you won’t find a better one than our girl Clemmie! Clem weighs 13 pounds and has a non-shedding coat, making her an option for those with allergies. If you’re ready to live life on the sweet side, come on down and meet Clementine!      Clementine is the sweetest dog in existence according to… well just about everyone who’s ever met her! She is a huge cuddler and loves being wherever her people are. She loves being held and will rest her head on your shoulder as you attempt to go about your day (it’s hard to say no when the face is as cute as hers). Clementine has a tail that never stops wagging and a smile that never leaves her face. Seriously, from the second we met her we’ve been entranced by this fabulous little lady. Clem, like any Shih Tzu, is a low-medium energy kinda girl. She’s happy to join you on a walk around the neighborhood but might prefer a day on the couch to a long hike. According to her foster mom, who’s had over a hundred foster dogs, Clem is a true once in a lifetime dog who will be the belle of the ball wherever she lands. We can’t gush about Clementine enough and we know whoever is lucky enough to adopt her will feel the same!  Clementine wakes up around 8 AM and goes right out for potty in the yard. She comes inside for breakfast and then gets a treat for being adorable! During the day, she rotates between napping, playing, and snuggling as her people go about their work from home. She goes out every 2-3 hours for a potty break and gets a long walk in the early evening around the neighborhood. She has dinner around 6 PM and spends her evenings snuggling on the couch with her foster mom. After one last potty break, she goes into her crate for the night around 10 PM.  Clementine is extremely dog friendly with dogs of all sizes but if she had it her way, she’d be the solo gal of your heart. She just wants all the cuddles. Clem has never met a stranger she hasn’t instantly befriended and curled into the lap of. She walks well on a leash and is crate trained. Clementine is just such an amazing girl and we love her dearly. We know her perfect forever home is out there and we can’t wait to find them! Ready for the sweetest girl? Meet Clementine!      Clementine is an option for homes with prior dog ownership experience. Homes should be prepared to discuss grooming requirements for the breed. Kids should be over the age of 7.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.
