Meet Nala S

Meet Nala! Nala is a beautiful one-year-old female German Shepherd, born in February 2024. An owner surrender, she is an affectionate, energetic and intelligent young pup looking for a loving home where she has plenty of space to romp and play. Nala is housebroken and rides well in the car, making her a great companion for adventures. Like most young German Shepherds, she’s full of boundless energy and curiosity! For this reason, we think she would do best in a home with older children. Nala is protective and will alarm bark to let you know when something’s up. She also loves to chew, so she’ll need plenty of durable toys to keep her busy. However, she doesn’t dig—just a playful pup eager to learn and explore. With little formal training, Nala will need an owner with GSD experience so she blossoms into the best canine ever. Having lived with a pit-bull, she may just love having another playmate but is lacking socialization skills —that's where you come in. No cats for this girl! If you're looking for an energetic, affectionate, intelligent, and fun-loving companion, Nala might be the perfect addition to your family! This youngster is new to our program - stay tuned for updates as we get to know her better. Nala is a level 3 dog

Adoption Process
Our adoption process is designed to help you and the right dog find each other. Our goal is to place each dog into a permanent, safe, and loving home. For the safety of small children and their families and the well being of younger dogs, we will only adopt dogs 4 years and older to families with children under the age of 7. To adopt a German Shepherd Dog from us, you must: 1. Live in Northern California. 2. Complete an Adoption Questionnaire, either online, or hard-copy (pdf format). If you do not own your home, your landlord must provide the completed Landlord Permission Agreement(pdf format). 3. Be interviewed by an adoption counselor. 4. Allow a home visit conducted by a GSRNC adoption counselor. 5. Choose, and be chosen by, the right dog. 6. With our approval, sign our Adoption Agreement, and pay the associated adoption fee. 7. At the time of adoption we also collect a deposit which is refunded after completion of two training sessions.
