Doggie Protective Services

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization based in So. CA who has established chapters outside of the area to attempt to place more of the dogs that are dying in the shelters in So. CA. Many areas do not have small breed dogs and we transport and meet with potential adopters because So. CA is deluged in small breed dogs.

Meet Honey

Adoption Fee: $600   Honey is a 3 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel x Papillon mix who can’t wait to fill your life with sweetness! Honey was surrendered to the shelter when her former home no longer had time for her care. Well, we couldn’t leave such a sweet girl behind when we came to pick up some other dogs so into the rescue van she leapt and she’s been winning over hearts ever since. Honey weighs 13 pounds which makes her the perfect size for anyone seeking a small but adorable companion on all of life’s best adventures.    Honey is as sweet as her namesake and as cute as a blossoming flower! This playful and lovable dog can’t wait to win over whoever is lucky enough to meet her. She loves playing fetch with her pile of squeaky toys (endless nights of fun). She loves to cuddle and follow her people wherever they go (man’s best friend). She is smart and loves food almost as much as she loves learning new tricks (something to show off for your friends). Honey made herself right at home on day one in her foster home, snuggling right in on the couch and looking at her people like “well, I’m here and ready to change your life!”. Honey is figuring out the neighborhood routes for her daily walks and would love a home where she can continue cataloging all the best sniffs out there. You won’t find a better (or more adorable) lifetime buddy than our Honey! And she’s organic too!  Honey starts her day at 8 AM with a big stretch before heading outside for a potty break. After she comes inside and enjoys her breakfast, she goes out for a neighborhood romp. Immediately upon her return, she heads outside for a sunbathing session and a long morning nap. During the day, she hangs out in the house, snoozing and playing as she sees fit. She has dinner around 5 PM and then heads out for some more sniffing and exploring. In the evening, Honey watches TV and unwinds from the day before she tucks herself into bed and dreams the night away.  Honey gets along fabulously with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a dog buddy. She would also be just fine as a solo dog. She’s flexible like that, as long as you are ready to love her! Honey is fully potty trained and crate trained. She walks very well on the leash and nicely greets all her two and four legged pals on her romps. Honey is just an all-around incredible gal who will provide so much love and joy to whoever is lucky enough to take her home!    Honey would be a fabulous option for any home, regardless of prior experience. She would be an amazing dog for those looking for a first-time dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 6.

Adoption Process
We require an application from anyone who is interested in adopting. Then we require a phone interview, followed by a meeting in person. Then if the animal is a match, we have a contract and our adoption fee which is $400.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
