High Plateau Humane Society

HPHS was founded in 1987 and we rescue about 120 dogs and 250 cats per year. We are an all-volunteer organization and run a thrift store, called Second Chance Thrift, from which we adopt out animals and sell our low-cost spay and neuter certificates. We have a number volunteers, including a board of five. We do this because we have a passion to rescue orphaned and homeless animals and want to make life better for the animals in our county.

Meet Sugar

Sugar is a smaller-sized Newfoundland/Great Pyrenees female who weighs about 85 pounds, and is about 5 years old.  She is a big love who gets along great with other dogs and is looking forward to sleeping in front of your fire place.  She is house trained, loves people and is medium to low energy.  She is also playful with other dogs and loves to be hugged and petted.  She should be great with kids. Adoption Process
When someone releases an animal to HPHS, we require a signed release form. We then have the animal vaccinated and spayed or neutered before offering it for adoption. Adoption fees vary and are listed with each animal.
