Meet Koko

Koko – Chocolate Female, 1 year, 46 lbs. Meet Koko! This adorable little thing is around 1 year old and a whopping 46 pounds! From her foster: She is exactly what you would imagine a one year old chocolate lab to be! A little touch of fun, a touch of crazy and so much love to give!! Koko is fostered with 4 adult dogs of all ages and a puppy and has been an exceptional house guest! She’s water crazy; loves to play fetch, loves playing with all the dogs. Koko is fully potty trained and sleeps all night in her crate! She’s a great pup and would do well in almost any situation. Koko is very good with kids, cats are unknown. I also love her size! Koko came to us as an owner surrender. We ask that a fairly extensive form be filled out and then internally decide if it’s a dog we can take on. Unfortunately, we don’t always get the whole story. This poor pup has been tossed around to different homes, landed at animal control shelter for running loose on a busy road. Moved to a house with no fencing again and expected to stay without wandering off.  Yes, for her safety it was imperative she come into rescue. We were told she was spayed; she was not. We were not told she has a limp, she does. She actually has elbow dysplasia in her right elbow, which was evaluated by our veterinarian and the following recommendations were made; Let her be as active as she wants to be. Keep her weight healthy. Yes, as she ages, like other active dogs, she may have a bit more arthritis and need pain medication in her elder years. I wouldn’t really call it a limp as much as her leg moves a little awkward. It absolutely does not slow her down at all! If Koko sounds like the dog for you, please fill out an adoption application at www.LabRescueFresno.org if you have an application with us already, please reply to the volunteer who answered and follow the instructions in red.
