Meet Brownie
Brownie was born 5/15/23 and is a healthy, fun loving puppy. She is currently 7 months old and 45lbs. Miss Brownie wants to be involved in everything you are doing and get all of the attention. She would be good with kids because she also loves to run and play with toys. Her mom was a Mountain Cur and weighs 43 lbs and the dad was a large farm dog, not sure what breed. **Brownie was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. She will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. She will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners and she may even learn some tricks as well! Brownie will be looking for a forever home before she graduates in mid January, so if you are interested in meeting her, please contact us! Please visit our website schspets.org and complete the online adoption application if interested and you will be contacted to arrange a visit to meet Brownie. Or you can call the shelter for more information 870-269-5200.
Adoption Process
We have an adoption application that can be found on our website and sent to our email or people call or inquire through adopt-a pet and petfinder where all our animals are posted and our FB page we call Stone County Humane Society Adoptions Available. It is a group page we use to find owners of lost pets as well as post our animals ready for adoption. Our normal FB page got hacked a few years ago and I have never set one up again. Our adoption fees are $100 for dogs and $50 for cats, and $150 for a trained dog through a local Paws in Prison training program we participate in every 8 weeks we send 2 dogs to be trained and adopted through this program. Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies shots, 2 cat/dog shots and more for puppies, 4DXPlus Idexx Snap test for heartworm, ehrlichia, lime and one other disease, and worm medicine. We ask for vet references and get all the information we can to determine if a person can adopt an animal from SCHS.
