Adopt-A-Stray

We are a few dedicated individuals who have formed Adopt-A-Stray in order to save many adoptable pets that would otherwise be euthanized in the shelters in our area. We routinely pull dogs and cats from the euthanasia list, as well as take in strays and owner surrenders as space allows.

Meet Homer

Homer is one of our dogs at Paws in Prison where he is learning basic commands and will pass the Canine Good Citizen test when he completes the program. Homer will finish the program in January and we hope he’ll have a home to go to! Here’s what they said about Homer- “Y’all know we sometimes get dogs that arrive terrified. Or everything and everyone. The sudden onslaught of new sights, sounds, people, and other dogs send them into sensory overload. And they get too scared to move. Yes, we do get those dogs. But Homer isn’t one of them. He walked in like he built the place and promptly proceeded to sprawl out like he’d always lived here, always known everybody, and always run the joint. Homer is a fine looking Australian cattle dog mix. He’s mostly white with tan highlights. Homer is 8-months-old and weighs 40 pounds. He’d do great at your place. Of course he would…Homer probably built that, too.” Homer is a sweet natured, gentle soul. We don't know his breed mix for sure but his mom appears to be a heeler/Australian Shepherd mix, although Homer doesn’t show any herding tendencies. Homer has an adorable little nub trail! Homer is good with other dogs AND cats! He is house trained. Homer is sure to make an excellent family member! Neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
