Caboose (NOT YET AVAILABLE)

Ninna's Road to Rescue

I, Ninna Lopez, have been in rescue since 2007, managing a large no-kill shelter before starting Ninna's Road to Rescue in 2012. We have rescued and rehomed 1000's of animals. Our facility is climate controlled and the animals stay indoors at night in specially designed doggy rooms. They have access to the outdoors during the day in a large fenced in area. It's a little bit of paradise for the dogs until they find their furever home.

Meet Caboose (NOT YET AVAILABLE)

Please don't forget us during GIVE FOR GOOD thru May 6, 2025! https://www.giveforgoodnla.org/nr2r NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 5/3/2025:  Caboose - female - 8 years old - 14.6 pounds - Dachshund Reason for intake:  Caboose came in with Amtrak from animal control.  We were told that the original owner passed away.  A man took them in but is "going somewhere Monday" and can't take them with him.  Not sure if that means he's moving or what... but we were asked to help and we traveled two hours to pick them up on Saturday, May 3.  They are scared but SO SWEET!  They are both heading to the vet on Tuesday May 6, for spaying and everything else they need.  (Caboose does seem to have a mass or hernia around her right rear mammary area... that we'll have our vet assess.) Give for Good is vital to our mission because rescuing animals costs money. We minimize expenses by administering some vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and treating ear mites ourselves, but some procedures must be done at a vet clinic. Our monthly vet bills range from $5,000 to $8,000 across two primary clinics. We also frequently use a groomer for dogs that arrive matted and neglected. Fortunately, both our groomer and vet clinics offer us discounts. Every dollar donated directly supports the animals, as everyone at our rescue is a volunteer. Thank you for your continued support! #giveforgoodnla NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS:  Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed.  Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining.   In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason.  We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption.  In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered.  Please note…  we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.  Please wait until the dog is available for adoption.  We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link:  https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Adoption Process
On-line adoption application required. If approved and at adoption we require adoption agreement, spay/neuter contract for puppies/kittens - adoption fees vary from $85 for felines and $150-$250 for dogs (varying depending on age, health, behavior, etc.) Adopters must have responsible dog-ownership history and stellar vet reference if applying to adopt a dog and vice versa for cats.
