2/3/24 Still available!
11/11/23 Hattie was abandoned along with her 2 sons, when their owner moved away and left them behind. Hattie is a medium size, about 35 lbs. We believe she is a heeler/Australian Shepherd mix, although she does not show any herding tendencies. Hattie is a shy girl and is easily frightened. She has a fear of men especially. She has not shown any aggression, she just tries to hide when she is afraid. Hattie gets along very well with other calm dogs, but rambunctious dogs overwhelm her and she tries to hide from them. Hattie would do best in a calm, quiet home, with people who can be patient and kind to her and help her build her confidence. You can hardly blame her for her fears after she was abandoned like a piece of garbage, and there is no telling what she went through prior to that. She can be very affectionate once she feels safe and secure. In the right home, she will learn that not all humans are cruel, and she will open up to those who show her kindness.
