Adopt-A-Stray

We are a few dedicated individuals who have formed Adopt-A-Stray in order to save many adoptable pets that would otherwise be euthanized in the shelters in our area. We routinely pull dogs and cats from the euthanasia list, as well as take in strays and owner surrenders as space allows.

Meet Jester

11/10/23  Jester Jester would be the perfect dog for someone who wants a protector. He is very protective of his home, yard, and humans. He LOVES other dogs and will play with the dogs in his foster home for hours. His former adopter had several tiny dogs that Jester got along with very well, and he is also good with cats. He needs an adopter who won't mind his protective nature. This means that when company is over to visit, Jester needs to be separate from them, whether in a different room or in a crate, because he can't differentiate between welcome guests and a threatening presence. He is incredibly loyal to the ones he loves. He enjoys car rides. When his former adopter took him everywhere with her, he did well in public places. He just needs an adopter who will understand that while he will be very loving and loyal to them, he may not be that way to visitors in the home and needs to be protected from any situation that could make him feel that his family or home is being threatened. Once you know him, you can't help but love him. He really has a sweet, fun personality and he responds very well to kindness and affection. This handsome, silly boy came into rescue from a shelter, where he had been brought in on an abuse case. We believe he is an Exotic Bully. He was in very bad condition, with lots of hair missing, and cherry eyes that needed corrective surgery. We had his eyes fixed and had him neutered and ask the other vetting we do for everyone in our rescue. Jester was adopted locally and was very loved by his new mom, but then some things happened in her life and she could not keep him. This was no fault of Jester's or his adopter, it was truly necessary for him to come back to us. So now he is back in his foster home and is doing well there, but he needs a home of his own. Jester is a young adult, about 1-2 years old. He is house trained and crate trained, as well as leash trained. He weighs about 35lbs. We would prefer Jester go to an adopter who is located here in Arkansas, or someone who would be willing to drive here to get him.
