Ocean (A135370) is a nearly 1-year-old AK Husky who weighed 71.5 pounds on intake!06/02/25 Sweet Ocean is back at the shelter and looking for her new home! She was described as a very sweet and affectionate girl who does fabulously with children! Her prior owner stated she was very tolerant of all their shenanigans! However, please always supervise interactions! Ocean was also stated to do well with dogs but has no experience around cats. Huskies are known to have high prey drives so if you have smaller critters around, please keep that in mind and make sure you to appropriate introductions. Ocean was stated to be kennel trained but is still having accidents in the home on occasion. She will stand by the door and whine when she needs to go outside. Ocean was known to still have some puppy tendencies like chewing, digging, and jumping on counters. Providing her with plenty of outlets for her energy should help cut back on those tendencies. We also encourage her owner to bring her to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners. If you are interested in meeting Ocean, please let us know! 09/17/24 Ocean is back at the shelter due to no fault of her own and is now searching for her forever home! During her short stay with her previous family, Ocean was said to be kennel trained and doing very well on potty training. Ocean is still a young puppy and will need further guidance on house training in her new home. Ocean has also been working on her basic commands and is well on her way to becoming a polite canine companion! Ocean did well with the children in the previous home and got along well with the adult dog in the home. If you are ready for the commitment of a young puppy, and would like to meet with Ocean, please let the front desk know! 08/20/24 This adorable litter of puppies arrived at the shelter at a very young age and spent time in two amazing foster homes until they were of the appropriate age to be adopted! In typical puppy fashion, they will need continued help with potty training, kennel training, basic commands, and positive socialization! In foster care, they were said to have almost mastered potty training, and with additional training and a consistent routine, they will be perfect! This litter has proven to be both smart and sweet and has the potential to grow into wonderful companions! If you are interested in meeting one of these sweethearts and have the time and energy to devote to raising them, please let us know!
