Meet WILLOW

Willow is a 7-year-old Lab mix who weighed over 100 pounds on intake but needs to slim down! 06/06/25 Miss Willow was very reluctantly brought back to the shelter due to an owner issue. She was described as being a very sweet dog who loves to sleep and will hog the entire bed! Willow was said to generally mind well and to do well in the car. She was also said to be housebroken! Willow is looking for a home without other dogs. She was said to guard her toys and food from other dogs in her previous home. She seemed to do better with small dogs, but it is difficult to assess where the line is for Willow with size. So it would be best for her to be the only dog in her next home. Her most recent home did have a cat that Willow seemed to get along with. However, it was stated that she was never left unattended in the same room as the cat, so err on the side of caution if you already have a cat in your home. Willow was said to do well with kids and babies, and she was said to not exhibit the same guarding habits towards kids as she does towards dogs. Miss Willow did arrive at the shelter quite overweight. It will be important to get Willow down to an ideal weight to benefit both her joints and longevity. If you are interested in meeting Miss Willow, please give us a call!02/07/24 Willow was surrendered back to the shelter because the child in the home was developing allergies. Willow was said to do wonderful with the child in the home and has done amazing with babies, children, and strangers in the past. Willow can be a tad more shy around men but has always been nice! She was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, and rides well in a car. Willow was also said to mind well and knows the commands sit, lay, and stay. Willow was said to be afraid of loud noises, especially fireworks. Her next owner may want to discuss how to keep her comfortable around that time with their vet. Willow is also overweight and would benefit from shedding a few pounds. A few more walks and a few less treats please! If you are interested in meeting sweet Willow, please let us know! 03/01/23 This loveable gal is Willow. Willow was surrendered to the shelter due to her prior owner moving and not being able to take her with. Willow was said to be kennel trained, housebroken (will sit by door), and rides well in a vehicle! She is also very smart and knows the commands: lay, sit, stay, and shake (but she is only right pawed)! Willow can be shy at first and takes a minute to warm up to new people. She does not have a history of living with children in the past but was said to do well with the children that she did meet! She has never been around cats, pocket pets, or livestock and was said to do ok with dogs. Please make sure you are doing slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new critters and people. Willow was said to do get into the trash when unsupervised if the lid was left open. But overall she is a wonderful dog! If you are interested in meeting Willow please give the shelter a call!
