Meet Rocky

Rocky has been through a lot most of his life and will need a patient and kind owner who is willing to give Rocky time to adapt to his new home. Rocky is a very friendly dude but may be shy when meeting new people for the first time. He can especially be wary of big, loud men. Rocky has a difficult past but is looking forward to a bright future! Once comfortable, he loves all the attention. His previous owner mentioned that he enjoys bath time and loves to join in on water fun! Rocky is an active dog who will thrive best with having a positive outlet for his energy. He enjoys having toys and regular enrichment! Rocky is a smart boy who appreciates keeping his brain busy too! We anticipate him enjoying dog puzzles and he loves stuffed kongs. Rocky was overall a well mannered gentleman on his previous home. His only flaw was that he would chew on kids toys and sometimes shoes when left alone outside of his crate. Rocky is crate trained and recommend keeping up with it; not just to ensure good behaviors when alone but to also provide him with a safe place of his own. Rocky is potty trained and will sit at the door when he needs to go out. He also knows the cues “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “off”, “treat”, “come”, “leave it”, “fetch”, “okay” and he walks well on a leash! Rocky had done well with the children in his previous home and is said to be a very loyal companion. He wants nothing more than to make his family happy! Rocky has done well with other dogs and is always excited to see the other dogs in the shelter. We have done a couple dog meet and greets too, which he has done great with. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! He has been around livestock with no issues but it is unknown how he does with cats and other small animals. We do suspect that he would chase them! Rocky is a very good boy and we are so proud of how far he has come. Again, Rocky will need time to adapt to his new home and please be prepared to provide him with that time!
