Meet Buck Wild

Meet Buck Wild! We absolutely adore Buck and his sweet, gentle and happy personality. Buck was a family dog before he came to the shelter and is truly friends to all! Buck lived with children of various ages and did great things in them all. He was said to be cuddly and oh so gentle! Buck also enjoys playing with other dogs and has done well with cats. Though Buck is such a friendly guy, it is still important to practice slow introductions while he is meeting new animals! His previous owner mentioned that he feels the calmest with another dog around. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! Buck recently went to an event with other dogs and was so great. He loved meeting new people, making friends and was on his best behavior. He is such a lover boy who lives for the attention! Buck does experience anxiety when left alone and would do best in a home that he doesn’t have to be alone on all of the time. Regular enrichment and exercise would benefit Buck. He is an active and playful dog; he will thrive best with regular exercise and playtime! He loves to chew and would appreciate durable toys, but he’s just as happy to have a good stick to chew on. Buck loves to go bye bye and is excited to enjoy some adventures with his future family! Buck is such a good boy and has had some basic obedience training. He knows the cues “sit”, “stay”, “down”, “no” and “fetch”. Buck is potty trained but please keep in mind that he will need time to learn his new homes routine! Buck walks well on a leash but does pull on occasion from excitement. We recommend trying a gentle lead with Buck as he only needs a little correction at times. Buck would benefit from crate training. Having a safe, secure place that is just his could not only help him feel more comfortable when alone, but it can also help him stay honest while his people are away from home! If you are looking for a happy go lucky dog who is down to snuggle but also won’t say no to a fun adventure, then Buck Wild may be the guy for you!
