Meet Millie May Jane

No longer accepting apps! Meet Millie May Jane. She is a sweet four-year-old fourth generation Certified Pedigree Boston Terrier. She loves attention but is also comfortable spending long periods of time by herself. Her owners brought her and her brother home together so they could keep each other company. During Millie’s life the daughter in the home was in high school and away in her first year of college. The daughter was in and out of the house a lot and the dad is a busy realtor. The puppies always had each other. The daughter has now taken her little boy dog to college with her, and Millie is lonely. Millie needs a good family home where people can give her the love and attention she deserves. As a single dad and busy businessman, her current owner is not able to give Millie the TLC she needs. Millie is eager to behave. She will protect the home if something is going on outside that shouldn’t be. She is very friendly but settles down after a few minutes of excited greeting of a newcomer into the home. Rubbing her belly is like hypnotizing her. She loves to be around people. If you are watching TV, reading or eating a meal she wants to be where you are most of the time. She knows how to use a doggy door and is crate trained. She has mild allergies so, the vet suggested we give her Zyrtec daily. When the pollen count is very high, and allergies are bothering her a lot, she is also given  Claritin with her evening meal. He owner loves her but knows she needs more. Millie is fully vetted, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) spayed and ready for a forever home today!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding.

Adoption Process
Our fee is $175 to cover vetting. Our dogs are adopted with age appropriate vaccinations, decals, dewormer, exams, heartworm test, spay/neuter, preventions and treated for any illness or injury.
