NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Danté - male, approximately 4-5 years old, Wirehaired terrier/Shihtzu mix. Sadly, his owner passed away and his family is looking for the perfect home for this boy. He thrives with people, kids and other pets and prefers to co-sleep with other dogs. He has the sweetest, humblest soul, and will do anything to please you, as he was once a stray dog literally saved from the streets. He’s never shown any aggression and loves to just lay in your lap, but will be fine staying outside all day, sun bathing and chasing wildlife. He does well walking on a leash, but will walk under your feet at times just to feel extra close to you, and he is trained to sleep in a crate at night. Danté is a low maintenance dog and would make a great addition to any home! He will complete his vetting next week and will then be adoption ready! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Adoption Process
Our fee is $175 to cover vetting. Our dogs are adopted with age appropriate vaccinations, decals, dewormer, exams, heartworm test, spay/neuter, preventions and treated for any illness or injury.
