Carnivora Issues Dog Food Recall Alert
As of June 12, 2020, Carnivora has issued a voluntary recall for multiple types of their Fresh Frozen Patties for Dogs and Cats. The food is being recalled due to potential E. Coli contamination. If an individual handles an E. Coli-infected product, cross-contamination may lead to illness.
E. coli is a bacteria that can cause a serious, sometimes life-threatening illness. Though some people infected with E. coli do not get sick, they can still infect others.
Which Carnivora Products Are Under Recall?
The recalled products from Carnivora belong to their Fresh Frozen Patties line of foods for dogs and cats. The products were sold in 4-lb and 25-lb packages. The recall includes multiple types of patties.

Why Was The Dog Food Recalled?
The Carnivora Frozen Patties were recalled due to potential contamination of E. Coli.
What Do I Do With The Food Now?
Due to potential E. Coli infections in dogs of any size and concern for human contraction, immediately stop feeding the recalled food to your dog. Please then return it to the original purchase location for a full refund.
What Do I Need To Know About E. Coli In Pets?
E. Coli in pets may come with various symptoms such as dehydration, depression, diarrhea, lack of appetite, rapid heart rate, weakness, and vomiting. If your pet is experiencing these symptoms after consuming the contaminated products, contact your veterinarian immediately.
If your animal has become infected but appears to be otherwise healthy, they can still be carriers of E. Coli. That means they can potentially infect other animals and humans they are around. So, you should always wash your hands after handling edible pet products such as food and treats to be safe.
