ShortWe took in a group of six kittens/teenage kittens we lovingly call the "Desert" kittens. All named after deserts around the world. They arrived as more like "teenage" kittens, old enough to be past the care-free stage, but young enough to not know how to process all the changes. They were scared and unsure of all of us. We had some difficult first days, trying to acclimate these babies to the shelter, and their new home with us. There was some initial hissing and hiding, that is what makes watching each them come out of their shell such a joy! They are starting to become "kittens" now! They play, they are curious, and they will greet us by their door waiting for food and treats. We love all love it. Each of these beautiful "desert" kittens has a unique look and personality. Each one is in a different point in the process as far as socialization. The two black kittens (Gibson and Gobi) were the first to come forward, the first to give us their trust, and want affection from volunteers. This has helped us connect with the other kittens as well. We know these young cats may need just a little extra time to adjust to their new home, but based on what we have seen in the shelter environment, they will quickly become loving members of their new family. Please give these young and beautiful souls a chance at a beautiful life. **Gibson is a solid black female kitten** *****IMPORTANT******We require your home to include a YOUNG, age-appropriate feline companion. Young kittens will not be approved for homes where they will not have a young feline companion. If you do not wish to adopt two kittens, please consider selecting a cat nearer to one year of age or older. Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of both cats while also making your life easier. Single kitten issues/problems are a real thing. Complete our online adoption application a www.littleorphans.org to start the process of adding an adorable kitten (or two!) to your home. Adoption fees for kittens include spay/neuter, up-to-date age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea preventative, and a microchip.
Adoption Process
Upon submission of an application, references are checked and a home visit may be conducted. Adoption fees vary and are included in each pet's description.
