Pet Haven is Minnesota's oldest animal rescue group. Meet Nala (FIV+)

Nala is a sweet and playful 9-year-old tripod who is looking for a fur-ever home who can show her how sweet a cat’s life can be!Nala is shy at first, but once you earn her trust, it's clear that she was born to be a loving companion. When Nala first came to my home, she spent most of the day hiding under the bed, watching me with her curious green eyes and occasionally venturing out to give me an exploratory sniff. At times, she is frightened of loud noises, but she calms down once she gets used to the usual sounds of her environment. The fastest way to Nala's heart is playtime. She loves dangly cat wands the most—in fact, once she starts to get to know you, dangling a toy in front of her is a great way to lure her out of her hiding spot. But if you're busy, no worries—Nala will happily entertain herself with a toy mouse, catnip, or whatever other toys you have.Once a human has earned her trust, Nala will start to show off her loving heart and sweet nature. This girl is a total purr machine—while I work from home, she will often sit on the floor, stare at me, and purr for several minutes at a time. She also likes to follow her human around on her three little legs—it's important to know what's going on in her house! She loves being pet (once her trust has been earned) and will lean into my hand.A sweet and well-behaved houseguest, Nala uses her litter box perfectly. She doesn't counter surf or try to eat food off your plate, and while she will ""talk"" to you with tiny little meows, she isn't a yowler and doesn't seem to have much separation anxiety.Nala tends to warm up to women more quickly than men—a home with one or two women would be a great fit for her. She doesn't like being picked up so older cat-conscious children would be best for her.. She will be nervous for the first few days of her new transition, so she needs a forever family who will be patient with her, respect her boundaries, and allow her to show love on her own time. She has only three legs (which makes her all the cuter) and is FIV+, but is healthy as can be. Nala is FIV+, but that doesn’t mean she can’t live a long, normal, and healthy life! Cats with FIV commonly have average lifespans. Because FIV is spread only through deep bite wounds, FIV positive cats are able to live with FIV negative cats in stable social environments. You can read more about FIV here: https://tinyurl.com/58sf9wtjOverall, Nala is looking for a patient, gentle human who is ready to show her that the world can be a good place. She deserves to be shown the kindness and love that she shows others every day. If you are ready to open your home and heart to this sweet, deserving girl, please apply today.----There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown.
