Second Chance Companions

We are an all-volunteer organization, started in 1993 dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area. We have a small number of foster homes that take in dogs/cats (and sometimes other small animals) and no central facility, but we also work as a referral service for private owners who are looking for homes for their pets (we do the screening for them and also provide education to try to encourage them to keep their pets, when possible). We have a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public to try to try to curb pet overpopulation. We also work with our local Meals on Wheels program to provide pet food to Meals on Wheels recipients, individuals in assisted living and senior facilities, and area food banks. When we have the funds, we also provide emergency medical assistance to individuals.

Meet Freddy Kreuger

Hi, my name is Freddy Kreuger, but I go by Freddy! I am looking for a new home where I can be the only cat. I can be territorial and do not like other cats in the home. I love dogs and humans. I hide from little kids because I am never around them but do well with everyone over 12. I love to cuddle and snuggle on your lap all day and make biscuits. I let my humans pick me up, hold me, and walk around with me too. I also love to talk and meow at you and will let you know if my water or food bowl is empty. I have never been outside and have only ever been an indoor kitty. I love to play with the cube and tunnels and love climbing into boxes and scratching on the posts/castles. I am not quite 5 years old with short black & white hair. I have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated, and treated for any parasites I might have had before. I am now ready to take on a new home where I can be the king, even if I have to convince the dogs! I am on an over-the-counter urinary food because at one time I did have a problem but I’m all good now – as long as I’m careful. I’m really not a scary cat as you can see by my big ‘smile’! Fill out an application to come and meet me to see if you think I would be the best thing to happen to your home!
