Second Chance Companions

We are an all-volunteer organization, started in 1993 dedicated to helping animals in SW Washington and the Portland Metro area. We have a small number of foster homes that take in dogs/cats (and sometimes other small animals) and no central facility, but we also work as a referral service for private owners who are looking for homes for their pets (we do the screening for them and also provide education to try to encourage them to keep their pets, when possible). We have a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public to try to try to curb pet overpopulation. We also work with our local Meals on Wheels program to provide pet food to Meals on Wheels recipients, individuals in assisted living and senior facilities, and area food banks. When we have the funds, we also provide emergency medical assistance to individuals.

Allergies can cause so many problems for the two-legged family members but it's always a bad thing for us four-legged members! It almost always means we're going to be looking for a new home where we can be as loved and spoiled as we were before the allergies showed up! I was doing great for several years but when the littlest member developed those things, even though I really loved her, I'm here looking for my new furever home. So, if you are looking for a sweet, older gentleman of the four-legged kind, please check me out. As I said, I loved the little one and have even lived with small and large dogs, a ferret, and those tantalizing fish! I'm mellow enough that other cats will be okay too once we get to know each other. I don't ask for much other than the basics of love, attention, a warm place to nap, and good food with plenty of water, oh, and of course a litterbox - I'm good with that. If you're looking to add a nice companion to your home, come and meet me and we'll see how things go. Even the vet commented on how easy-going I was while she poked and prodded on me! However, after that exam, another problem came up because I was diagnosed with diabetes but my foster mom is working to get me on whatever I need to stabilize that. I've been updated on my shots, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, and I was declawed on my front paws when I was much younger. I'm a handsome tabby with the classic bullseye pattern, just entering my golden years at 12 years old and have lots of love to give in return for the same. I'm just waiting for you now!
