Meet Pomelo

Meet Pomelo, our shy doe-eyed beauty. She is named after the sweet summer fruit that takes patience and work to taste; we think you'll find the effort well worth it.  Just around 9-10 months old, Pomelo was rescued as an older kitten who had already learned the world can be a dangerous place by the time a kind family was able to trap her. The time she has since spent with her foster family has been a joy to watch as she has blossomed in their patient and loving care.  Pomelo is dainty and is medium to low energy. When she is not sunbathing or sleeping, she enjoys playing, especially with feather wand toys. For her, playing goes hand-in-hand with affection and she will often expect petting sessions in the middle of playtime. She also has a darling quirk of wiggling on her back towards an affectionate hand. Thus, her nickname is Wiggle Worm.  Pomelo is slow to warm up to new humans and may feel emboldened by another low energy cat in the home. She has a bit of a crush on the male cat in her foster home (whether it's reciprocated is a matter of debate) and doesn't seem to mind when the curious dogs in her foster home plunk down on the other side of the baby gate.  Pomelo will require a quieter home without loud noises or activities. She has developed a love for scratching posts, cat trees, gentle head pets, socks, and bird watching. She recently burrowed under a blanket in her foster mom's lap to take a nap, a moment her foster mom will always cherish.  If you feel you have the heart and home for our sweet Pomelo, please contact Laura at 540-272-3506.
