Forgotten Felines of Culpeper

I have been rescuing for another group for 8 years, that group is in the process of dissolving. I am forming this group because there is a desperate need for it in this area. I believe that every cat deserves to have shelter from the elements, food, and humane care. I am hoping to lower the shelter's euthanasia rates, and help the community by taking in sick, orphaned, and abandoned cats through a network of foster homes, once expansion is necessary.

Meet Maddie

Meet Maddie! Maddie is a gorgeous orange and white, long-haired cat, just 2 1/2 years old. Maddie originally came to us as a kitten from a high-kill shelter with a few other cats. They were all living in an overcrowded home - 10 cats in all - and were surrendered to the shelter, where they immediately faced euthanization. Maddie's brother, Jojo, is still with us. (Please check out his bio also.)Maddie was adopted but sadly her owner recently moved and abandoned Maddie and another cat, Tux in an apartment to fend by themselves. The landlord found them and contacted us. As you can see, being abandoned seems to be a theme for poor Maddie so far, but she seems no worse for the wear. After all, sadly, this is all she has known. We know that good, loving humans are still out there and hope Maddie will find a home with one.Maddie loves a sunny window and comes for scritches and affection on her schedule. She enjoys being around her foster mom and dad, and loves a good corner to hang out and nap in, and as mentioned, can always be found in front of a sunny window. She does not seem to be bonded to her former roomie, Tux.Maddie is dewormed, spayed, up to date on her rabies and FVRCP vaccines, tested negative on her combo test, and is microchipped with a lifetime regstration. Maddie would LOVE a home with a mommy (and maybe a daddy) that won't abandon her. (It hurt her feelings.) If you're interested in meeting Maddie and giving her a home, please fill out our digital application:  https://submit.jotform.com/221029453063044

Adoption Process
Once adoption application is approved and references checked, an adoption contract is signed. For all Shrinking Violets - not fully socialized cats - the adoption fee is $25. Requirements of adoption: may not declaw, if for any reason it doesn't work out the cat MUST come back to our organization. The cat's new, adoptive home must be an indoor only one in a quiet, low activity home, with older children. Must take to vet w/in 10 days.
