Humane Society of Washington County, TN

The Appalachian Highlands Humane Society promotes Spay/Neuter. We pull animals from our local animal shelter and place them in foster care, give them any medical attention they need, spay/neuter prior to adoptions. We also, review craigslist on a daily basis and contact individuals listing "free" puppies, dogs, cats and kittens in an effort to get them to surrender to us and attempt to educate these individuals about spay/neuter and the danger of listing free animals. Along with our foster animals, we take animals currently residing in our local shelter to adoption events.

Meet Brandi

Behold the majestic presence of Brandi, a 7-year-old tuxedo queen with the poise of a duchess and the stare of someone who absolutely knows you ate the last treat. She is full of sass, class, and just a touch of cat hair. She has opinions about everything; mostly about when dinner should be served. With her plush gray coat, white-tipped paws, and those golden eyes, Brandi is the kind of cat who doesn’t just walk into a room — she arrives. Friendly and full of personality, Brandi is always down for a chat (or a passive-aggressive glare, depending on the mood). She’s not clingy, but she will follow you from room to room like a glamorous little shadow — supervising, judging, and occasionally blessing you with head bumps if you’ve earned them.  Brandi is spayed, vaccinated, litter box trained, and carries herself with the confidence of someone who has never once questioned if she’s the main character. (Spoiler: she is.) Brandi has mastered the art of the slow blink, the dramatic flop, and the “I love you but not that much” stare. She enjoys chin scratches, being admired from a distance, and walking into the room like she owns it. (She does.) Brandi believes she's adopting humans, not the other way around. If you'd like to be adopted by royalty, apply online at ahhumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application/ or email [email protected] with any questions!

Adoption Process
