Meet Blacksad

He was brought in as an emergency for a urinary blockage. Unable to pay for the necessary treatment, his family had no choice but to euthanize him, as he was suffering and the procedure had to be carried out quickly. The vet offered to relinquish the animal's rights in order to find a shelter that could pay for the care and take care of the animal, who has a long and beautiful life ahead of him. The family agreed. The vet then performed the unblocking surgery, and all went well. However, when he performed the operation, he was able to see that there was a problem with the urethra and that Blacksad would have to have another surgery, otherwise he would keep having blockages. The vet stabilized little Blacksad and we were able to take him to our regular vet for further treatment, which is much less expensive than emergency care. Our clinic performed Blacksad's urethrostomy. Of course, he must continue to eat specialized food to avoid urinary problems, but otherwise he's doing wonderfully. He's a very active kitten with lots of energy to burn. He jumps on all the cats to play, but obviously the other cats aren't very receptive. He would therefore be best as a single cat or with a kitten his own age. Blacksad is easy to handle and has wonderful thumbs. He could easily live with several people, as long as he gets plenty of attention! He loves to play with lasers and sunlight. He coos profusely to say hello. Blacksad is a kitten cat therefore the adoption fees for him are $340. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) and feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within thr first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).   In order to get a chance to adopt him, please fill out our adoption directly on our website:  https://www.reseausecoursanimal.org/contacts/adoption-form/
