Nina

Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary

We are a companion animal rescue group and sanctuary. Our animals come from many places. About 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Our foster home network helps us care for many more animals than can stay at the sanctuary. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. That is why we are a no-kill facility. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to Thundering Paws are tax deductible. We rely on our volunteers and generous donors to keep us going.

Meet Nina

Meet  Nina , nicknamed Tortellini for her stunning tortoiseshell coat.  Nina 's soft fur and gentle demeanor make her a true love bug, always ready for cuddles and affection when approached. Despite her initial shyness in new environments or around strangers,  Nina  blossoms into a playful and energetic gal once she feels comfortable. She loves climbing on things and playing with interactive toys, particularly anything dangling from a string or crinkle balls. When it's time to rest, you can find her perched up high on a cat tree or curled up beside you in bed. Although shy around strangers and sensitive to loud noises,  Nina  has had positive interactions with adults and gentle children. She's not food motivated except for specific treats, and she adores watching birds outside the window. She sometimes meows to seek attention, and she’s never shown aggression towards people. With her smart and well-mannered demeanor,  Nina  would thrive in a calm and patient home where she can continue to be the cozy companion that she loves to be.

Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian. We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
