Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary

We are a companion animal rescue group and sanctuary. Our animals come from many places. About 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Our foster home network helps us care for many more animals than can stay at the sanctuary. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. That is why we are a no-kill facility. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to Thundering Paws are tax deductible. We rely on our volunteers and generous donors to keep us going.

Meet Mighty Bob

Meet Mighty  Bob , the extraordinary cat who defies all odds with his spirit and unique charm. Despite facing numerous challenges, including being toothless, tailless, and sporting two cauliflower ears,  Bob radiates resilience and affection.    Originally known as Bitey  Bob  due to his feral beginnings, he has transformed into Mighty  Bob  through his remarkable journey of survival and triumph. Rescued from a feral colony, Mighty  Bob  underwent extensive medical treatments, including battling FIP and undergoing dental surgery. Through it all, he survived and remained resilient, earning the admiration of all who encounter him. While he may still exhibit playful "bites" without teeth, his affectionate nature shines through as he eagerly seeks attention, particularly when someone graces the futon.      Bob 's outgoing demeanor and low energy make him a delightful companion, especially for those seeking a laid-back feline friend. He enjoys playing with toys like balls and finds solace in cozy spots bathed in sunlight, away from the hustle and bustle. While he may not be food motivated, his sociable eating habits and positive interactions with cats and dogs reflect his adaptable nature.    Mighty  Bob  Currently lives harmoniously with other feline companions, and he loves observing their antics from his perch, occasionally taking part in the playful interactions. He’d be great in a home with other cats, or even as a singleton. Due to his tendency to "bite" and be firm in his boundaries, he would thrive best in a home without children, where his unique needs can be met with understanding and care. With his endearing personality and resilient spirit, Mighty  Bob  awaits a forever home where he can continue to inspire and bring joy to those around him.    Known Medical Issues: Mighty  Bob  is currently taking Denamarin and Ursodiol, which are both liver supplements.   Denamarin must be given one hour prior to his dinner.

Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian. We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
