Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary

We are a companion animal rescue group and sanctuary. Our animals come from many places. About 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Our foster home network helps us care for many more animals than can stay at the sanctuary. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. That is why we are a no-kill facility. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to Thundering Paws are tax deductible. We rely on our volunteers and generous donors to keep us going.

Meet Marmalade

Meet Marmalade, a black and white furball with white sock feet and captivating yellow eyes. This snuggle bug loves to burrow into blankets and clothes, turning any space into her cozy hideout. With her big ears always perked up, Marmalade is the queen of curiosity. She's quick to explore new places but tends to be a bit shy around new people—just give her an hour and she'll warm right up! Marmalade is your perfect sidekick with medium confidence. She enjoys being brushed and would rather have all four paws on the ground than be picked up. However, don't mistake her for a wallflower; she's incredibly energetic and loves to climb and play. Her toy box is a treasure trove of strings, crinkle balls, and anything that makes a sound. Her roller ball scratcher is her go-to for both play and relaxation. When it comes to food, Marmalade is a little foodie. She'll remind you when it's mealtime and isn't shy about sampling from other bowls to ensure she's not missing out. She’s got a big heart and lots of love to give, often choosing to snuggle in bed, by the window, or with her big foster brother Baby when it's time to rest. If you're lucky, you'll hear her purr in contentment or chirp for some attention.  Whether you're looking for a playmate or a cuddly companion, Marmalade is the perfect addition to any home.

Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian. We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
