Lacie

Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary

We are a companion animal rescue group and sanctuary. Our animals come from many places. About 75% are adoptable - we find them homes. Others are feral (wild) cats who have had no positive contact with humans. They, too, have good lives at Thundering Paws. Our foster home network helps us care for many more animals than can stay at the sanctuary. Some animals arrive fearful and cannot be adopted until they learn what it's like to be touched by gentle hands. Others need time to recover from injuries or illness before they go to their new homes. While spay/neuter is the only permanent solution to the overpopulation of companion animals, Thundering Paws wants animals who are already born to have full, happy lives. That is why we are a no-kill facility. We are a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to Thundering Paws are tax deductible. We rely on our volunteers and generous donors to keep us going.

Meet Lacie

Lacie is the cat version of chamomile tea: peaceful, cozy, and comforting. This brown tabby gal isn’t one for high energy play or chasing toys around. Her job in life is simple: wake up each day, lounge around, and look adorable. And we must say, she’s a professional in her field!   Lacie has a soft and affectionate nature, and receives the world best when approached with gentleness and kindness. While she prefers to keep all of her paws on the ground instead of being picked up, she loves being next her people. Being brushed is her love language and she’ll happily loaf next to you and purr away the whole time. When this sweet gal needs anything, especially more pets and brushies, she’ll gently meow at you to get your attention. Not one for playing with toys of any variety, Lacie prefers to spend her days snoozing in her snuggly round cat bed or curled up in a warm cozy closet.   On the social side of things, Lacie is great with other people. She is initially shy but warms up quite fast and gets even more affectionate once she gets to know new faces. People are her main preference. Other cats? Not so much. She likes to be the only kitty in the home and will let you know her dissatisfaction when other cats are around. Her stance on dogs remains a mystery, yet to be discovered.   Lacie’s ideal home would be one with a calm energy that matches her need for tranquility. A home with one or two adults and no other animals looking for a cozy sidekick to take up the extra spot on the sofa would be a match made in heaven for this lovely lady.

Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian. We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.

Look for other cats for adoption!
