Izzy is a grown-up girl, with striking calico colors and green-gold eyes. And she’s polydactyl, which means she has a an “extra” toe. Polydactyl cats are considered special kitties, and she is special in many ways. She is shy at first with new people and places, but with every day that she gets to know you, Izzy warms up and becomes friendly and approachable. Her sweet personality eventually blossoms. She shows her excitement by grazing your leg and approaching for play. She loves humans who act silly with her, getting down on the floor at her level for a loving, creative and playful connection. Once she has gained confidence, she is up for anything, pets, playing, cuddles, brushing her beautiful coat of many colors. She has a fairly low energy level and is well - mannered . She prefers to lounge around and hangout with her people but does enjoy a romp with her favorite string and catnip toys. One of her more recent favorites is to curl up in blankets like a kitty burrito, completely cozy and happy! Izzy is a gentle soul and thrives in a quieter environment where she can share the love and affection of her humans. Loud noise , lots of activity , and strangers make her nervous and shy and she tends to hide under her blanket. She likes adults and older children that can play at her level and understand her gentle nature. She prefers humans over other animals and in particular does not care for dogs. She needs to have a very clean litter box that is “just for her” and away from too much commotion. Izzy would love to be the quiet queen of your home. She is a great companion and easy to get along with, doesn’t meow much, is patient about food and feeding. If you are looking for a sweetly charming and regal kitty, Izzy could be your girl !a
Adoption Process
We ask potential adopters to fill out an application, which we review. We prefer to have the name and contact information for a current or former veterinarian.
We typically deliver the adopted pet(s) to the adopter's home, at which time a contract is signed. We ask for a $100 adoption donation, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, FIV and feline leukemia testing for cats, heartworm testing for dogs, and all veterinary records.
If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we take the animal back at any time during his or her life. Until the adopter and Thundering Paws decide together that the adoption is final, we will refund the adoption donation.
