MAIZEY is a marvelous young cat at just six months of age. The minute she sees a person standing in front of her she wants to roll over into the cutest positions and use those adorable eyes of hers to draw the lucky person in to her little world. She is long-haired with buff and gray markings and the sweetest thing ever. She was surrendered in May 2025 after her owner learned that she had tested positive for FIV. That is unfortunate because it is an autoimmune deficiency and not an actual disease. She will need to be an indoor cat to avoid being exposed to viruses that could compromise her health. However, she can live a full healthy life, in spite of having the autoimmune deficiency. If you have any other cats in the home, you will want to have them vaccinated against that condition. To learn more about the condition talk to your veterinarian. MAIZEY still needs to be spayed before she can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
