Meet PUMPKIN (neut./declawed!)
PUMPKIN is a 14 lb. brown and black male tabby about 2 years of age. He and his brother/housemate were surrendered in early April 2025. Both cats were declawed one year ago and are both neutered. However, at least one of them is now missing the litter pan when he does his business. This is quite common with cats who have been declawed. Who knows, though. Sometimes there is a stress level in the house that can create these problems, as well. Medical issues can too, although none has been reported with PUMPKIN. He is just a sweet and loving fellow. Because he is already neutered, he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Because he is declawed, he can go only to a home that is willing to permanently keep him indoors. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. so, please go prepared! That includes taking an adult cat carrier or two with you to the adoption appointment in case you decide to adopt one or more of the spade or neutered cats currently at the animal shelter. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
