Second Chance Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary

Second Chance Ranch Rescue and Sanctuary is a nonprofit animal rescue in North Carolina. Our organization pulls dogs and cats from high kill shelters in rural counties in North Carolina with high rates of medical cases, abuse and neglect. Many of our pets suffer from a multitude of dire medical needs from heartworm treatment to cleft palate reconstructive surgeries. It is our mission to give these deserving pets the life they deserve, no matter how long it takes for them to find it. We are completely foster based, which means that we do not have a shelter facility. All of the dogs and cats who we save are housed in volunteer foster homes with loving families who aide in their rehabilitation. Additionally, everyone who "works" for our rescue is a volunteer, including our Board members and founder. Everything that we do, and all that we provide, is achieved through generous donations by our dedicated supporters.

Meet Sawyer

Rumor has it that you have been scouring the internet looking for a kitten to adopt. Look no further! I’m Sawyer. But my foster mom never calls me that. She calls me “Pretty Girl”, “Purr Bucket” and “Purr Pants”. I’m a 4-month old light calico cutie with bright eyes and an even brighter disposition. I enjoy keeping myself well groomed by scratching the cat tree and cardboard scratcher and getting brushed with the Zoom Groom. I like when my foster mom plays the wand toy with me but my absolute favorite toy is my foil ball. To be honest, it’s looking pretty ragged since I have been abusing it pretty hard these past several weeks. Foster mom got me some new ones, but I don’t like them quite as much as the old crusty one that has been found in the food bowl, the water bowl, the litter box, the shower, foster mom’s shoe… it has a certain “lived in” feel to it that I love. Anyway, a few more things about me. I am a litter box professional, vaccinated, and spayed (as of August 31). My foster mom’s place is WAY better than the noisy animal shelter. But now that I’m getting older, I’m ready to put some roots down and find my forever home. If you are looking for a Purr Bucket of your own, fill out an application to meet me! Estimated DOB: 05/17/2023
