Meet AYA- tender heart and so sweet
Meet Aya, she is our well rounded tender heart Calico adult kitty. We were called to save her. Save her life, actually. She was living, being loved, but also neglected. She was kept alone for long periods of time, given food as a emotional support. Her long beautiful coat of fur was never brushed. This caused her once-beautiful long hair to be in dreadlocks where she could barely walk. She gained weight 18 pounds because of it. Now this champ of a tender heart is under the proper care and she is loving every minute if it. She has received the lion cut, showing of her details. Yes, her hair will grow back. Despite this, her blood work is top notch, her body is strong and she now eats a simple and nourishing diet, and has lost 2 pounds already. She will need to continue this diet, which is super simple to follow and she has no complaints. Fast forward almost a month and she is running after toys and playing which was not possible before. She is starting to feel like a cat again as best as we can tell. This neglect did not negatively affect her personality and she is the sweetest kitty ever. Here are a few points from her foster family: Very sweet and gentle. Loves to play with laser light. She purrs loudly and loves belly rubs. It will take her a few days to settle into her new home, but once she does, she will be the sweetest, most loving kitty ever. She would be super happy as the only cat, not familiar with dogs so that would probably not be a good idea to introduce her to a dog. She has been fine around a very sweet child of 7 years old who knows the boundaries of an adult kitty. A quieter home with patience and understanding to allow her to settle in and find her comfort zone. It wont take her long and she will most likely find you as her friend and buddy. Indoor only. Adoption fee is waived due to a generous donation. Home visit required. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Your information will be forwarded to the foster parent for follow-ups and meeting arrangement. Adoption fee Includes spay/neuter, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines, and negative FIV and FeLV test. Cat's Cradle is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue serving Oregon cats who need new homes. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the cats in our care. We invite you to become a foster parent and experience the great satisfaction of helping a cat or kitten in need.
Adoption Process
Adoptable cats and kittens are shown on our website with detailed profiles and pictures. To help our potential adopters learn more about the cat(s), we encourage them to first contact and discuss with the foster family if it might be a good fit. Potential adopters must submit an adoption application for review and evaluation. We also have onsite Adoption Events on a weekly basis. Our adoption counselors are present to handle the interview and adoption process.
Our adoption fee for single kitten is $120 and $200 for a pair. Adult cat adoption fee is $60.
We require that adopted cats be mainly indoor cats and no declawing is allowed. Adopters must be over 21 years old and sign a contract that lists out his/her responsibility as the cat's owner.
