Stanly County Humane Society, Inc. is a non-profit corporation recognized by the IRS as 501(c)3. All contributions are tax deductible. Our mailing address is PO Box 1632 Albemarle, NC 28001. We are located only 1 hour from Charlotte and 1 1/2 hours from Greensboro, however, we do not have an actual shelter at this time. We feature both pure and mixed breed dogs that are usually under 20 pounds. Our dogs are fostered in a climate so that we know them well and can place them in the kind of home they need. Our goal is for both the pet and the adoptive family to be very happy with each other.

This wide-eyed wonder is MURPHY! A local resident found him in her flowerbed. Likely dumped – as is the trend this season – he has previously been handled because he’s very social. This goofy, playful boy will want to be in on all the action, perfect for a fun-loving family. The standard adoption fee is $100 cash or $105 debit/credit. This includes feline testing, vaccines, spaying/neutering, micro-chipping and de-worming. Adoption Process
An adoption application must be completed before meeting the pets and an adoption contract is required upon approval to adopt. Our adoption fee is usually $150 - $200. This includes all vet work, including shots, altering and heartworm test.
