American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was the first humane society to be established in North America and is, today, one of the largest in the world. Our organization was founded by Henry Bergh in 1866 on the belief that animals are entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of humans, and must be protected under the law. Headquartered in New York City, the ASPCA maintains a strong local presence, and with programs that extend our anti-cruelty mission across the country, we are recognized as a national animal welfare organization. We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, and proud to boast more than 1 million supporters across the country.

Meet Uriel

This prom season, are you looking for the best dressed guy in town? Look no further than Uriel, our handsome tuxedo cat! Uriel is a 10-year-old gentleman who is ready to strut his stuff and claim his prom king crown! Though he may look like a confident boy, when he moved into his foster home, he needed some time, patience and love to feel comfortable. Once settled in, Uriel shows off his love of pets – even belly rubs! He shows his affection by rubbing against everything, including his favorite people. He has a quirky side too, and he thoroughly enjoys drinking from faucets and pawing at his water bowl. Uriel is our sweet, funny, sensitive cat, and he can’t wait to be your BFF!  Uriel has previously lived well with other cats. Uriel would do best in a quiet home with a patient adopter who can help him come out of his shell. Adopters should use a slow approach and avoid forced interactions with Uriel.  Are you ready to ask Uriel to the prom? Click the “Adopt Me” button to submit an adoption application here - https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/85f1cb94-ca27-4ae4-81dc-90d46dc0e40a *The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.*
