Meet KitKat

KitKat finally got his break! This tabby is the kind of former rough-and-tumble Tom whose body tells a story you can feel the moment you pet him – a tough exterior riddled with scars, rough fur that had to withstand the elements, notched ears that were the casualties in fights with other cats. But like all animals, KitKat is so much more than what’s on the outside. On the inside, he’s a mushy, gushy, sweet fellow just looking for a place to finally rest and call his own. KitKat has lived outside his entire life that we know of, but his break came when a kind caretaker noticed how friendly he was. And now, he’s living a life of indoor luxury at the shelter! He enjoys lounging around in a comfy bed or hammock and delighting visitors with a deep-throaty purr, almost like the coo of a dove with a frog stuck in its throat. His favorite thing, though, is getting pets and scratches. And running your hand over a body that’s lived a hard life is a heartwarming and tear-jerking contrast to the affection you receive back from this boy who just needed a chance. KitKat is mild-mannered and doesn’t stir up any trouble with his colony-mates. He seems fine with dogs, too. He’s just looking for a calm home and maybe a lap to call his own. KitKat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and flea treated. If you want to give this dude his final break, fill out an application at https://secondchanceas.org/adopt or call us with questions at 570-376-3646.
