Sometimes, all it takes is one brave action to change your life for the better. Enchi did just that, as he choose to rescue himself one night after being either left behind, lost or dumped by his previous owner - he walked right into the home of our rescue's founder and up the stairs like he owned the place. It is unclear as to what Enchilada's past entails, but he had clearly been owned by people previously as was evidenced by an indent around his neck where a collar should have been, and his level of socialization and familiarity with people is much higher than that of a feral kitty. Despite hanging fliers and posting to multiple social media platforms in an attempt to find his family, no one came forward to claim poor Enchi. He has been through a lot, and is still hesitant, but does come and accept pets and nuzzle up on those who bring treats! He did very well with his grooming session, which involved removing several mats from his fur that had built up during his time outside. He's now looking and feeling much better, and needs a nice patient person to help him get back to being a happy house cat.Enchi does not do well with dogs, possibly as a result of living outdoors. Enchi is estimated to be between 2-3 years old, and did test positive for FIV, which should not affect his lifespan but does mean he should be a solo kitty so as to prevent risk of spreading the disease to other cats. We at TTRR are happy to discuss what it means to be FIV+ with any interested applicants! Per Enchi's foster 2/25/24: "Enchilada is a fluffy friend that enjoys long naps. He usually is most comfortable alone, or when handlers are resting or feeding him (especially wet food). He is very skittish cat and startled easily by sudden movements. When he is comfortable, he can be cuddly but patience is the name of the game with him. His whereabouts remain unknown but he does not seem to have any known diseases or conditions. He is litter trained but doesn’t not seem to clean cover his number 2s very well, be advised. When alone he likes to lay on the bed, groom himself and watch outside the window. He tends to hide in confined spaces like under beds when he is startled."Per Enchi's foster 3/30/24: "Enchi is a fluffy little guy that takes a second to get comfortable but when he is, he always wants head pets. He loves his morning wet food and regularly grooms himself as well! He is indoor trained, and usually likes to sleep a lot when no one is home and will want attention when someone he trusts is home. He does shed a bit, so please do have lint rollers and brushes available. He may seem skittish at first but patience and gentleness is always the best course of action with him. He seems most comfortable when people are relaxing or laying down furthermore solidifying him as a true couch potato. Treats are always appreciated by him too!"Feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more in the meantime!
