New York City Cat Coalition

NYC Cat Coalition Mission Statement: We rescue cats and kittens from the streets or from owner surrender, bring them for needed veterinary services, assess them, give them love, and find them good and loving forever homes. Our volunteers feed several feral cat colonies, do TNR trapping, provide winter shelters. Our volunteers foster cats, maintain a number of cats who reside at the cat center at the Pelham Manor Petsmart, and we bring cats every Sunday to the Scarsdale Petsmart, and participate in National Adoption Weekend events. We follow up with adopters and will go to their homes to help 'catify' to help the cats adjust more easily if necessary. We are a group of people who are passionate about giving cats kindness and love and compassion. The Bronx does not have an animal shelter, and the animals there are severely under-served. In all five buroughs of New York City, there are only three animal shelters, and heartbreakingly, they euthanize most of the cats. We are doing what we can to save as many cats as our small organization can.

Meet WINDY “Everyone knows it’s WINDY!”

“Everyone knows it’s WINDY!” True to the song that seems made from her , this darling seemed to have flew in with the wind in a Bronx neighborhood on the night of the full “wind” moon in April. Her personality is “lighter than air” and she’s always looking to make friends with anyone around ! She is instant Velcro to any lap willing to accept her , and her ADORABLE meows will greet you when you walk in the door . She is the most outgoing, happy, joyful spirit that would hands down make the easiest addition to your home. She seems totally fine and relaxed during introductions with foster parents 3 cats even though they were weary themselves - but also seems perfectly content as a solo cat - as long as you have LOTS of love to give her . This petite princess is estimated no older than a year , spayed , negative for FIV and FELV, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for potential parasites and/or fleas. To adopt darling Windy- email [email protected] or call Joan at (718) 671-1695

Adoption Process
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.

Look for other cats for adoption!
