New York City Cat Coalition

NYC Cat Coalition Mission Statement: We rescue cats and kittens from the streets or from owner surrender, bring them for needed veterinary services, assess them, give them love, and find them good and loving forever homes. Our volunteers feed several feral cat colonies, do TNR trapping, provide winter shelters. Our volunteers foster cats, maintain a number of cats who reside at the cat center at the Pelham Manor Petsmart, and we bring cats every Sunday to the Scarsdale Petsmart, and participate in National Adoption Weekend events. We follow up with adopters and will go to their homes to help 'catify' to help the cats adjust more easily if necessary. We are a group of people who are passionate about giving cats kindness and love and compassion. The Bronx does not have an animal shelter, and the animals there are severely under-served. In all five buroughs of New York City, there are only three animal shelters, and heartbreakingly, they euthanize most of the cats. We are doing what we can to save as many cats as our small organization can.

Meet Clint

Clint is a handsome adult tuxedo who’s been through a lot in his short life but craves human love and attention as if nothing ever happened. He is incredibly affectionate, purrs , makes biscuits and loves to be on your lap when you relax on the couch . He’s come such a far way from when we recovered him in very poor shape, skinny , drooling , and stinky .  it turned out poor Clint was suffering from severe dental issues . We gave him a thorough dental cleaning and some teeth were removed . He went on medication to control inflammation in his gums from years of neglect on the street . He is doing incredibly well and is such a healthier boy now! He’s so ready for his forever home either as a solo cat or maybe a home with one or two other sweet and friendly cats. To apply to adopt Clint and give him the life he deserves email [email protected] or call Joan at (718) 671-1695

Adoption Process
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.

Look for other cats for adoption!
