Meet Cyrus

HISTORY: CYRUS was originally rescued during a TNR operation in Albuquerque. We do not know what happened to him after his first adoption, but eventually he was found to be FIV positive (see Additional Information below). He was subsequently transferred to F&F from Dew Paws Rescue for assistance in rehoming. TEMPERAMENT: CYRUS is a handsome and chill but friendly boy who seems to enjoy human attention and does not object to sharing space with another male cat. We are still learning more about his likes and dislikes but this calm gentle cat would love to have a permanent place to call home. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species.
