New York City Cat Coalition

NYC Cat Coalition Mission Statement: We rescue cats and kittens from the streets or from owner surrender, bring them for needed veterinary services, assess them, give them love, and find them good and loving forever homes. Our volunteers feed several feral cat colonies, do TNR trapping, provide winter shelters. Our volunteers foster cats, maintain a number of cats who reside at the cat center at the Pelham Manor Petsmart, and we bring cats every Sunday to the Scarsdale Petsmart, and participate in National Adoption Weekend events. We follow up with adopters and will go to their homes to help 'catify' to help the cats adjust more easily if necessary. We are a group of people who are passionate about giving cats kindness and love and compassion. The Bronx does not have an animal shelter, and the animals there are severely under-served. In all five buroughs of New York City, there are only three animal shelters, and heartbreakingly, they euthanize most of the cats. We are doing what we can to save as many cats as our small organization can.

Meet Peridot, Pyrite , and Fluorite - Purring Gemstones

Meet three of our incredible Purring Gemstones litter “Peridot, Pyrite, and Fluorite” ! Sweet as sugar and beautiful inside and out like their gemstone names!  Pyrite and peridot may do best paired together. they are kind of on similar wavelengths!  Fluorite wouldlikely would do best adopted separately so long as the home has another cat to play with.  Fluorite Traits: Confident • Independent • Playful Fluorite is the bold, fearless leader of the group—a classic boy cat with energy, confidence, and a big personality. He’s the first to explore new territory, the first to pounce on a toy, and usually the instigator when the sibling wrestling begins. But beneath that alpha-cat energy is a kitten who loves human attention, especially if it involves riding on your shoulders. Yep, Fluorite is a shoulder cat! Pyrite  Traits: Curious • Playful • Gentle  Pyrite is a soft-hearted explorer with a gentle soul. While he might hesitate in new spaces at first, his curiosity always nudges him forward—just with a little caution along the way. He loves chasing toy balls and play-wrestling with his siblings, but his favorite move might be the “flop.” This sweet boy turns into absolute mush when you pet him and is happy to melt into your hands. He’s incredibly pliable, easygoing, and just the right mix of playful and cuddly. Peridot Traits: • Affectionate • Loyal • Quietly Strong Peridot is a sweet, quiet girl who forms deep bonds once she trusts you. She might hang back at first—but once she decides you’re her person, she becomes your little shadow. She’ll wake you up with chirps and purring, and demand all the pets she deserves. While she’s usually the quiet observer while her brothers roughhouse, don’t be fooled, Peridot can throw down when she’s in the mood and knows how to hold her own. She also makes the cutest sounds when she’s got the zoomies. Mama had a whopping TEN precious gemstones . (Two were adopted prior to listing) . Born indoors in April 8th , they were nursed with love and raised in a home with young children. Now these three are being fostered with love and so ready to find their forever home(s). Together or separately (as long as there is another playful young cat or kitten at home that wants a friend). Fostered in upper Manhattan but can be adopted within a couple hours of NYC for the right home. They are truly special kittens who purr and play and cuddle with people and each other! Sparkling with joy and are incredibly friendly they will get along with other cats and their siblings alike.  All kittens  have their initial fvrcp vaccines , are negative for FIV and FELV and treated for potential parasites and fleas . Adoption fee includes spay/neuter , intial fvrcp and rabies vaccines, and microchip .  To apply to adopt email [email protected] ALL kittens must be adopted at a minimum to a home with another young cat or kitten that will play with them, this is for both their wellbeing and yours.

Adoption Process
We wish to place cats only in secure, safe, stable, loving homes, and we are very careful in our review of the applications. Potential Pet-parents fill out an Adoption Application, we review the application, call the applicant, schedule a time for them to visit our cats. We check their references, call their veterinarian, and verify that their backup person who would take the cats if something happened to the adopter is on board. Then a Foster Agreement is completed. When all parties are happy, after about 2 weeks, we have the finalized Adoption Agreement sent to us.
