Ohhh mama! We're all shook up at the prospect of helping this hunka hunka, FeLVis Presley, find his future love with one lucky family! FeLVis is an irresistible charmer who will quickly win you over with his unique meow and desire for nonstop petting sessions (even the belly isn't off limits)! He originally wandered onto his caretaker's porch last summer, where he was regularly fed and cared for until coming into PAWS due to some recurring issues with his health (bad teeth and a hard time fighting off colds). This super social frontman is just looking for someone to love him tender, and would do well finding an attentive home with people of all ages to keep the rhythm rockin' and rollin'! So the only real question to ask yourself is...will you let him be your teddy bear? FeLVis has tested positive for FeLV and also has stomatitis, an autoimmune disease that causes painful inflammation in the mouth, and which resulted in PAWS removing all of his teeth. His future family should continue to monitor for any recurring signs of pain, which he is currently being treated for with a round of steroids (which may need to continue, depending on how his body responds to everything). That, along with his FeLV+ status, means his adopters just should prepare to proactive with his vet care while spoiling him every day! **Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a virus that is specific to cats that attacks and weakens a cat’s immune system. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives—with a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. In the past, cats with FeLV in shelters were euthanized as soon as they were diagnosed. PAWS takes a different stance: we enable FeLV+ cats to live out their lives in loving homes. For more information feel free to check out the FeLV FAQs we have available on our website!** Age: ~10 years old How I came to PAWS: Found Stray Animal ID#: A55914 Location: PAWS Grays Ferry Clinic. This is not a walk-in facility, so please email [email protected] to set up a time to meet this kitty!
